Konstantin Fridrihovich Gebel

Background

Konstantin Gebel was born in 1903.

Education

Has been taught by Giovanni Carlo Faccioli.

Career

He set off his circus career as a gymnast, juggler and eccentric acrobat in the circus act of "Maston" brothers. A. Mikhailov was his partner. In October, 1918 Gebel together with G.P. Zieriensdorf, A.A. and E.R. Durovs, C. Faccioli, Cappa and Sazonov-Orlandos founded Circus Association "Kooperativ". This association then staged "Revolution's triumph or Shattered shackles" pantomime.

In 1919-1922, together with A. Mikhailov he was performing in Faccioli's troupe.

In 1927, together with A. Peshkov (Korelli) he headed the team that performed in summer stock at Pervomaysky garden in Voronezh.

Together with Oznobkin he participated in "Gladiators of antique" circus act. During his military service, Gebel formed a circus ensemble (Byelorussian SSR).

Achievements

• In his 50 years at circus, Gebel took part in more than 30 circus acts. 20 of those were done all by himself. One of the founders of circus association "Kooperativ" based in Voronezh.
