In 1923 Korehito Kurahara graduated from Tokyo College of Foreign Languages. And after his graduation, he proceeded to Moscow for further studies (1925-1926).
Returning home, led the proletarian movement as a member of Bungei Sensen (Literary Front). In 1930 Korehito Kurahara revisited Russia and upon return in 1932 was arrested and sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for political activity. After the end of World War II he led the democratic cultural movement as a member of New Japanese Literary Society. Kurahara Korehito was also then executive member of Japan Communist Party. In 1950 he was purged.
