He graduated from Medical School, Tokyo University (1906) and taught at several universities.
Career
Emeritus professor at Tohoku University. Made an anthropological research tour of the South Sea Islands (1915). Appointed professor at Tohoku University (1916). Went to Europe (1921). Appointed dean of the Medical School, Tohoku University (1933). His subjects of study included anthropo¬logy, pre-historic ages and anatomy. Noted as the discoverer of the Akashi Man.
