Career
He resigned as a director of StatoilHydro (since 2007-2010-01) and chairman of the company"s audit committee on March 25, 2009, due to the way the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has handled the issue relating to the company name. He is also chair of Reliance Industries and Collstrups Mindelegat. Nieslen received an Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, in 1972.

He resigned from the board of Novo A/South in August 2006 and was immediately elected to the Board of the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
