In 1972 Laurence earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. In a year he became a Master of Arts. From 1973 to 1974 he attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States.

Career

Since 1974 Laurence was an associate director of Light Gallery in New York City, New York, United States. In 1977 he worked as a teacher of history and photography at the New School for Social Research in New York City, New York, United States.

Miller curated the exhibit, "The Book - A New Direction for Photography," at the Quivira Gallery in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States in 1974.
