Lee C. Teng is a senior physicist emeritus at the Advanced Photon Source of the Argonne National Laboratory.
Education
He graduated from The Catholic University of Peking (Fu Jen University) in Beijing in 1946. Since receiving his Doctor of Philosophy in 1951, Lee has worked at the University of Minnesota, the Wichita State University, Argonne National Laboratory, and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab).
Career
He has made numerous contributions to the field of accelerator physics. Teng born in Beijing, but his ancestral home is in Fuzhou. Teng left his native China in 1947 to attend graduate school in physics at the University of Chicago.
He was the Director of the Particle Accelerator Division at Argonne National Laboratory.
In 1983, Teng took a partial leave of absence from Fermilab to serve as the founding director of what is now the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) in Taiwan.
