Liang Lei-ya was a Chinese electric engineer. He held such positions as director, editor, civil inspector, etc.

Background

Mr. Liang was born in 1897 in Wu-ning, Guangxi, China.

Career

Liang Lei-ya was a director of electrical department, Ministry of Communications, Military Government in Guangzhou, China in 1920. He accompanied the Expeditionary Forces from Guangzhou to Guangxi in July 1921 and was appointed magistrate of Wu-ning and director of the electrical administration of Guangxi in 1922.

Also Mr. Liang was a magistrate of Tung Kuan of Guangdong and concurrently counseller of the Provincial Government of Guangdong in 1923, then he became an editor of the Shanghai Independent Weekly in 1926, civil inspector of districts of Nanhui, Pudong and Fengxian of Jiangsu in connection with the work of improving the administration of these districts and the party organizations in 1927.

Liang Lei-ya was a director of Electrial Administration of Anhui in 1927-1928 and in that capacity.

Achievements

  • Mr. Liang established a short wave radio station in Wuhu and Anqing respectively. He was responsible for the erection of four short wave stations in Jinan and Qingdao.
