Liliya Mikhailovna Davidovich was born on December 25, 1936 in Grodno (at that time Polish Republic).
After the end of the World War II, Liliya graduated from cultural and educational school and was recommended to study at theater school, but did not pass the interview. Liliya returned to Grodno, where she continued to play on the stage of an amateur theater of the Grodno regional council. However, Belarusian actor, director and teacher Konstantin Sannikov was looking for young talented youth throughout the country and he paid his attention to a young star. He invited Liliya to study at the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (nowadays, Belarusian State Academy of Arts) in Minsk. Liliya studied together with future famous actors Viktor Tarasov, Gennady Ovsyannikov, Maria Zaharevich Galina Tolkacheva. Ample curves of a young actress limited the choice of appropriate roles for her, but Liliya managed to loose the weight one summer to. She told her colleagues that she "just painted the house and ate only pears". She graduated from the institute in 1960.
After graduation from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts in 1960, Liliya Davidovich joined the Janka Kupala National Theater in Minsk. The actress worked in this very theater for 40. She played about 70 roles on the stage, as well as in the movies of “Belarusfilm studio”, the main film studio of Belarus. She played different characters, ordinary women and queens, making each special. She skillfully demonstrated the psychology and characters of heroes, played in tragedies and comedies.
She took part in such famous plays as "Tribunal", "Fire victims", "Lyavoniha on orbit" by A. Makayonak, "And the Birds Stopped Singing " by I. Shamiakin, "Nightwatch" by A. Delendik, "The Lower Depths" by M. Gorky "Russian people" by K. Simonov, "The end crowns all" by W. Shakespeare, "The Lady from the Sea" by G.Ibsen, and others.
Her most famous and most-loved role was Hanna in the play "People of the swamp" by I. Melezh. This image was a kind of debut in which a young actress was able to convey a natural feeling of female dignity in the hard world of Polesse village.
In the later years of her life, Liliya Davidovich headed the jury of many theater festivals, was engaged in educational and social activities. She was a member of the State Prize Committee of the Republic of Belarus State in the field of literature, art and architecture.
