Linda Potter Acredolo

Background

Linda Acredolo was born on September 24, 1947, in Buffalo, New York. She was a daughter of George and Marjorie Dohn Potter. Her father was an accountant.

Education

Linda Acredolo studied at Bucknell University in 1967. She got a bachelor's degree. Then Linda attended the University of Minnesota in 1974. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy.

Career

From 1973 till 1976 Linda worked as an assistant professor of psychology at the State University of New York in Buffalo. Then from 1976 till 1984, she was an assistant professor at the University of California, Davis. After that, since 1984 Linda Acredolo became a professor of psychology. From 1988 till 1989 she worked as an associate dean at the College of Letters & Science. Linda Acredolo was also a contributor to books and to periodicals, including "Child Development", "Developmental Psychology" and "Contemporary Psychology."

Achievements

• Dr. Acredolo has served as an Associate Editor of Child Development, as Secretary of the Society for Research in Child Development, and is a Fellow of both the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society.
