Achievements include discovery of remodelling of mitochondrial cristae during apoptosis; discovery of role of proapoptotic Bachelor of Civil Law-2 family members in controlling endoplasmic reticulum calcium stores; research in role of proteins that shape mitochondria in life and death of the cells.
