Lydia Vladimirovna Orlova began her professional career in 1911 in Tver. In 1919-1924 she worked in theaters of Zagorsk, Kursk, Kherson, Nikolaev, Ivanovo, Samara. In 1925-1927 she played at the Voronezh drama theater. Among the roles of the different periods: Gornostaeva ("Lyubov Yarovaya" by Konstantin Trenev), Vanyushina ("Children of Vanyushina" by Sergei Naydenov), Anfisa Tikhonovna, Gavrilovna, Ogurevna ("Wolves and sheep", "Pupils", "A heart is not stone" by Alexander Ostrovsky) and others.
