In 1852, Makarii Trifonovich graduated from the Oryol Theological Seminary. In 1856 graduated from the Kiev Theological Academy.
rom 1856 to 1879 Makarii Trifonovich was a lecturer of the Oryol Theological Seminary, catechist and church’s pastor of the Alexandrinsky Institute in Orel. In 1879 he took monastic vows.
Makarii Trifonovich was an archimandrite of the Spaso-Chelnsky monastery (the town of Trubchevsk, Oryol Province, 1879-1881), a pastor of the Moscow Znamensky Monastery (1881-1882). During 1882-1886 ̶ bishop of Ostrogozhsky, vicar of the Voronezh diocese, at the same time abbot of Akatov Alekseevsky monastery. Bishop of Orenburg and Ural (1886-1895). Bishop of Kaluga and Borovsk (1895-1901). Since 1901, settled in the Transfiguration Belevsky Monastery.
Makarii Trifonovich Troitsky is the author of poetry collections "Sacred and Traveling Lyre" (Kaluga, 1899) and "Sacred Lyre in Solitude" (Tula-Belev, 1901-1906), numerous conversations and teachings, including "Word on the Day of the Celebration of the Three-Hundred Years of Voronezh City" ( "Voronezh diocesan statements", 1886. № 11).
