He graduated from Voronezh Theological Seminary in 1852.
In 1852-1853, he taught at Biryuchensky Religious School, Voronezh Theological School in 1853. In 1853-1856 he served as a priest in Bogucharsky uyezd, Tomsk in 1856-1871.
In 1871-1884 he served as a regimental priest. He participated in the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878.
From 1884, he was a rector of the cathedral in Kalisz. From 1881, his historical and church articles were published in the journal "Russky Vestnik", from 1867 in "Sovremenaya Letopis", from 1862 in "Stranik".
He was a member of the commission for the compilation of the church historical and statistical description of Tomsk eparchy.
