Margaret received Bachelor of Arts (with honors) at Cambridge University in 1970. The she earned Master of Arts at University of Toronto in 1972, and Doctor of Philosophy at University of London in 1990.
In 1979 - 1982 Margaret worked as a lecturer in classics in the University of Reading. Since 1989 she is the senior lecturer in classical studies in University of Surrey, St. Mary’s University College. And in 1990 - 1991 she was appointed a lecturer at Magdalen College in Oxford University. She also conducts researches on gender in archaic lyric, and on gender, collectivity, and the chorus.
