Margo Ann Davis was born on January 15, 1944 in New York, United States.
Margo Ann Davis earned her Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1965. She attended photography workshops in Boston (1965-1966) and apprenticed at the ASUC Studio, Berkeley (1966-1969). She has also studied at the Sorbonne in France (1963-1964) and is an Master of Arts candidate at San lose State University, California.
Since 1978 Margo Ann Davis has been assistant director of the Center for Research on Women at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California. In 1975 she taught at the Friends of Photography Spring Workshop and at the Ansel Adams Yosemite Portrait Workshop. She has also lectured in photography for Stanford's Freshman Seminar Program (since 1972), has taught documentary photography at the University of California, Berkeley's Extension Center (1969-1970) and taught at the San Francisco Art Institute Summer Workshop (1968).
In 1967-68 Margo Ann Davis was researcher and photographer for the Sausalito (California) Teacher Education Project and has been a research assistant at two Centers for Research and Development in Higher Education-Berkeley (1967) and Harvard University (1966).
