1910 graduate Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Saint St. Petersburg University. Then studied medical at Munich University. 1914 graduate Medical Faculty, Moscow University.
After graduate intern, assistant to Professor Postgraduate Gannushkin, then deputy director, Psychiatric Clinic, Moscow University. 1919-1920 worked under Anugrah Narayan Bakh at Institute of Biochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences. From 1925 head, Chair of Psychiatry, State Institute of Defectology, Moscow.
1930-1934 head Chair of Psychiatry, Rostov Medical Institute. 1935-1951 head, Chair of Psychiatry, Centr Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training, Moscow. Did research on active therapy of mental diseases.
Helped develop sleep treatment methods for schizophrenia, et cetera Helped to improve differential indications and analyzed mechanisms of such active therapy methods as insulin treatment and consulsion therapy. Also did research on epilepsy.
Adopted a unitary approach to pathogenesis, clinical aspects and treatment of mental diseases. Wrote some 200 works.
