Masajiro Tatsuki was born in 1863 in Shiga, Japan.
In 1876 Masajiro Tatsuki joined the shop of Chube Ito, his uncle. Leaving there (1889), he engaged in cotton business and gradually became prosperous. Masajiro Tatsuki participated in the establishment of Osaka Three Staples Exchange (1894) and was made its auditor. He was the director of Kato Cotton Spinning Company, Sanyo Cotton Spinning Company, Kyoto Electric Lamp Company, etc.
