He graduated from Economics Department of Keio University in 1924, then studied in Europe and America.
He served successively as director, head of department store, executive director of Keihanshin Express Railway, representative of Hankyu Kyoei Pharmaceutical Company, supervisor of Nissen Land Company; appointed president of Hankyu Department Store (1947); holds additional posts of director of Imperial Theatre, director of Shin Nippon (New Japan) Broadcasting Corporation, councilor of Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, director of Japan Department Store Association.
