Matabe Kita graduated from Vocal Music Course of Tokyo Academy of Music (1929). He studied in Italy as student at Santa Cecilia Music Academy in Rome (1931-1933).
Career
After returning home taught at alma mater as part-time instructor and then as professor and later was appointed to post as chief professor of vocal music course. Holds additional post as principal of Music High School attached to Tokyo University of Arts which was inaugurated in 1954. For some time appeared on the concert stage but has been more active in field of vocal music education.
