Michael Hahn was born on April 11, 1953, in Fort Bragg, Northern Carolina, United States. He is the son of Thomas J. and Janice (Darby) Hahn.
Hahn attended Bradford Academy since 1968 till 1971. He also graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1972. Michael attended Wildbranch Writers Workshop and Bennington Writers Workshop, both in 1993.
Since 1972, Michael Hahn works as a perfoming musician and songwriter. Since 1993, he also works as a freelance writer. He is a softball and basketball coach as well.
