Yarus was born on March 2, 1940 in Pikeville, Kentucky, United States; the son of Bernard Alexander and Sarah Bodenger Yarus.

Education

Yarus received a Doctor of Philosophy degree from California Institute of Technology in 1965.

Career

Yarus was a professor of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology Department at the University of Colorado since 1980. Nowadays he is a professor emeritus at the same university.
