The firm"s state of the art lien and foreclosure department aids in providing full service representation of community associations which includes construction defects litigation, covenant enforcement, document revision, document interpretation, contract review and general counsel services.
Hyman & Kaplan pioneered the use of arbitration in the resolution of construction defects litigation. Since 1984 the firm has served as coordinating counsel for the Intercargo Professional Liability Program. This entails providing representation to the international transportation specialist in both claims and lawsuits on a nationwide basis.
In addition, the firm serves as Customs counsel to the Custom brokerage community and is also very active in the area of surety law.
The firm has substantial expertise in the area of transportation law and litigation, including admiralty, air freight forwarding, common carriers, marine and cargo claims and lawsuits arising therefrom, and actively engages in the education of the international transportation community.
