Michio Kozaki was born on November 16, 1888, in Tokyo. He was the son of Hiromichi Ozaki (Kozaki), who was a leader of Christianity during the Meiji Era.

After graduating from Oberlin University, America in 1912, Michio Kozaki continued his studies at Columbia University to eventually be conferred a degree of Doctor of Divinity at Yale University.
Returning home after the USA in 1931, Michio Kozaki was appointed Pastor of Reinanzaka Church. Also he became a Chairman of Japan Christian Association. While in this post, he attended several international conferences.
Michio is said to have a warm personality. Michio Kozaki was also doing international activities such as opposing nuclear test at Bikini Atoll.
