Since December 31, 1992 he was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Zambia. Since Dec. 1996 Director of the Africa Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since January 31, 1999 he was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Hellenic Republic.
Over a period of 2003-2006 he was the ambassador-at-large of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Russian Federation; also he was engaged in the Abkhaz-Georgian conflict resolution.
On November 14, 2006, he was appointed ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. He holds the rank of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary.
He is married; has a daughter.
