Mikhail was born on November 11, 1792, in Yelets, Russian Federation.
He graduated from the Voronezh Religious Seminary (1811), the Medical Department of the Moscow Medical-Surgical Academy, the Physics and Mathematics Department of Moscow University (1818), and the Agricultural Academy in Reichenow-Möglin (Germany; 1820).
In 1820-1840 - Head of the Department of Agriculture at Moscow University, 1st Director of the Agricultural School of the Imperial Moscow Society of Agriculture (1822-1828), 1st Director (1825-1828) of the 1st Experimental Agronomical Institution in Russia - Butyrsky Farm. The publisher of the magazine "Atheney" (Moscow; 1828-1830). In the 1830s, Pavlov published such magazines as "Russian Farming", "Notes for Rural Owners, Breeders, and Manufacturers". Also, he read public lectures on agriculture. Moreover, he inspected educational institutions of the Voronezh province
Mikhail Pavlov was the follower of F. Schelling philosophy. The Pavlov’s ideas influenced many Russian cultural figures, including Nikolai Vladimirovich Stankevich and members of his club.
