Mikhail Kuzmich Volkov

Background

Mikhail was born on April 20, 1937, in Uryv of Korotoyaksky district, Voronezh Region, Russian.

Education

He graduated from Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in Russian Language and Literature in1961. He finished the Department of Journalism, Faculty of Philology in Voronezh State University in 1971.

Career

Mikhail was the member of the Union of Journalists in 1961. He was in a post as the head of the school of young correspondents and photo studio of the Voronezh City Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren from 1958 till 1962. He held the post of the editor of "Voronezh News" in the regional committee on television and radio broadcasting from1962 to 1968. He was the engineer of the Center for Scientific and Technical Information to promote technical knowledge through radio and television from 1968 to 1970. He held the position of an employee of the Regional Center for Standardization and Metrology from 1970 till 2001. He taught photography at the Faculty of Journalism of Voronezh State University. He was the chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans’ Journalism since 2000.
