Graduated from the Voronezh Theological Seminary (1853). Graduated from the Kiev Theological Academy (1868).
Served as a priest of the Voronezh diocese. Having become a widower, in 1864 he took monastic vows in the monastery of Mitrofanov. Bishop Mikhailovsky, vicar of the Ryazan diocese (1885), Bishop of Novomyrgorodsky diocese.
In the summer of 1900, retired to rest and appointed governor of the Wrenburg Desert of the Ryazan Diocese. In 1903 he was transferred to the Grigorievo-Bizyukovsky Monastery of the Kherson Diocese.
The author of the 12-volume theological treatise, in 4 parts. In 1896 he donated his works to the library of the Voronezh Theological Seminary.
