Background
The eldest son of Tsunemoto Minamoto. As his family lived at Tada, Settsu (Hyogo Prefecture) they came to be known as Tada. Was both brave and well versed in waka poetry.

Began his career as commander of local .government. Later coming under the evil influence of the Fujiwara family became involved in the Anna Affair, but later turned sides, in¬formed the Emperor of the plot and had his former associates arrested. Late in life turned priest under the name of Mankei and built the Tadain Temple.
