Toshihito no Fujiwara

Background

Toshihito no Fujiwara was born in Tsuruga (Fukui Prefecture).He was the son of Tokinaga, Commander of Chinjufu (Local Garrisons). He was born in Tsuruga (Fukui Prefecture).

Career

He held the title of Chinjufu-shogun, or Commander-in-chief of the Defense of the North. He was also father of Fujiwara Kaga-no-suke Tadayori and grandfather of Fujiwara no Yoshimune.

His descendants branched off into the Togashi and Hayashi families, who were powerful in the Hokuriku District.

Achievements

• He distinguished himself by making the Kanto District free from banditry.
