Naritsune Fujiwara was born in 1156.
Naritsune Fujiwara was born in 1156.
He served Emperor Goshirakawa and was favored by him. He was appointed Major-General of the Right Guard and concurrently Lord of Tamba (near Kyoto) and therefore was called commonly Major General of Tamba.
In 1177, Naritsune was captured by the Tairas because his father, Narichika, plotted to destroy the Tan*a family. At the intercession of his father, Norimori Taira, he was saved from death but was exiled to Kikaigashima off Kagoshima along with Yasuyori Taira and Shunkan.
The lord of Tanba province, Naritsune was married to a niece of Taira no Kiyomori.
