Graduated from Borisoglebsk gymnasium, the Composition Faculty at Moscow Conservatory (1943, a pupil of Aleksandrov A.N.).
Since 1930 he was a conductor. A conductor of opera studio and teacher (since 1940), head of the Department of Opera-Symphonic Conducting (1949 – 1962) at the Moscow Conservatory.
Rozhdestvenskiy G., Zhyuraytis A. were among his pupils.
The author of musical compositions, educational materials “Practical guide on reading of symphony scores” (Moscow-Leningrad, 1951).
Translated into Russian H. Wood’s “About conducting” (Moscow, 1958), Charles Munch’s “I am a conductor” (Moscow, 1960).
Gave concerts in Voronezh (February, 1934, the concert hall of the cinema “Spartak”; January, 1936, the hall of the Great Soviet Theatre).
