In 1964-1985 he occupied the position of the head of the Department of Philosophy of the Gorky State Pedagogical Institute. In 1985-2002 Nikolai Dmitrievich was the head of the Department of Philosophy of the Voronezh Technological Institute (now Voronezh State Technological Academy). Since 2002 he has been the professor of the Department of Philosophy of the Voronezh State Pedagogical University.
