He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Philosophy, Literature, History (1938).
Member of the Great Patriotic War. In 1941, Associate Professor of the History of Chkalovsky State Pedagogical Institute. In 1946-1947, a teacher of a secondary school of the Northern Group of Forces in the town of Lynnitsa (Poland). In 1947-1950, senior lecturer, head of the history department of a teacher’s institute in the city of Zagorsk, Moscow region. In 1950-1953, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of General History of the Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute, in 1951 at the same time Associate Professor of the Department of General History of Voronezh State University. Since 1953, a doctoral candidate, professor of the Middle Ages history department of the Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute named after NK Krupskaya.
