In 1970, Natalia Timofeeva graduated from Panin High School in the Voronezh region. In 1970-1972, she studied at the history department of Voronezh State University and graduated from the history department of the faculty of philosophy, history, and social science of the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg.
Natalia Timofeeva was an assistant to the department of the general history of Syktyvkar State University since 1980. In 1983-1985, post-graduate student of the department of the new and modern history of Leningrad State University. In 1986-1993, she was an assistant, senior lecturer of the department of the general history of the Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute, associate professor of the department of foreign history, in 1996-2004,vice-rector for international relations of the Voronezh State Pedagogical University. Since 2004, associate professor of the department of general legal theoretical disciplines of the central branch of the Russian Academy of Justice in Voronezh. Since 2008, she has been the head of the regional center for oral history, which operates on an Intercollegiate basis.
