Nikolai Nikolaevich Sosnin (real name Solovyov) was born on April 23, 1884, in Moscow City, Russian Federation in the family of an officer.
For two years, Nikolai Nikolaevich studied at the Architectural Department of Moscow School of Arts, Sculpture, and Architecture.
Nikolai Nikolaevich started his artistic activity in 1906 in Nikolaev. He performed in Russian and Ukrainian theaters. In 1928-1929, he worked at the Voronezh Drama Theater, where he did such plays as He Who Gets Slapped by Leonid Nikolaevich Andreev, The Rift by Boris Andreevich Lavrenev, Notre-Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo, Mirele Efros by Yakov Mikhailovich Gordin, etc. In 1930-1931, Nikolai Nikolaevich worked at the Kiev Theater of Russian Drama. In 1931, he moved to Moscow and performed at the Korsh Theater. During 1933-1959, he worked as an actor in the Moscow Art Theater named after Maxim Gorky.
Nikolai Nikolaevich was married twice. His first wife was Vera Nikanorovna Solovyova. They had three children. Son - Lev Nikolayevich Solovyov (1907-1986), an artist, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR; daughter - Tatiana Nikolaevna Solovyova; son - Arseny Nikolayevich Solovyov.
His second wife was Elizaveta Mikhailovna Solovyova-Sosnina (nee Antseva).
