He graduated from Leningrad Theater Workshop in 1928, (course by E. I. Time).
He worked in theaters of Leningrad, Rostov on Don, Almaty, Kostroma between 1945–1963. From the second half of 1963, he was an artist of the Voronezh Drama Theater, where he played the role of Edlai Hamilton (Theresa's Birthday by George Mdivani). Since 1964 he was an artist of the Ryazan Drama Theater. Among his main roles were Murzavetsky, Telyatev, Velikatov (Wolves and Sheep; The Megabuck; Talents and Admirers by Alexander Ostrovsky), Alexander (The Last by Maxim Gorky), Nekhlyudov, Protasov (The Resurrection; The Living Corpse by Leo Tolstoy) and others.
