Did research on history of children's toys, children's books and children's theater. Worked for children's clubs in Moscow and for Free Child Center. From 1918 founder-director, State Toy Museum, Moscow.
1919 founded Museum of the 'Forties. 1923 agganged crafts side of 1st All-Russian Agric Crafts lnd Exhibition, Moscow. 1925 helped arrange Russian Department, lnt Exhibition of Art Indiana and Decorative Art, Paris.
Displayed his works at art exhibitions in Russia, Paris, London, et cetera Wrote works on educational theory, art industry, peasant art and crafts. Edited various periodicals on these subjects.
