Nikolay Zherebtsov graduated from the Technological Faculty of the Leningrad Technological Institute of the Food Industry (1950). In 1956-1958 he was a graduate student at the Kiev Technological Institute of the Food Industry.
In 1950-1956 Nikolay worked as the engineer-technologist at the enterprises of Voronezh and Lipetsk region. In 1958-1961 he was a teacher of the technical school in Rossosh. Since 1961 he was an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, head of the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology (1977-1997), in 1977-1982 he worked as a Dean of the Faculty of Meat and Dairy Technology of the Voronezh Technological Institute (Voronezh State Technological Academy).
Sphere of scientific interests: the search for the optimal biosynthesis of biologically active substances and the study of their physicochemical properties.
The author of more than 300 works, including books: "Amyolytic enzymes in the food industry" (Moscow, 1989); "Influence of physico-chemical factors on the dynamics of hydrolysis of starch with glucoamidase" (Voronezh, 1991).
