Vadim Frolov was born on January 14, 1937, in Voronezh, Russian Federation.
Vadim Frolov graduated from the forest engineering department of the Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies named after G.F. Morozov in 1960, and the faculty of automation and telemechanics of the Tula Polytechnic Institute in 1965.
From 1960 to 1961 Vadim Frolov worked as an engineer of the design Bureau of the chemical plant. From 1962 to 1965 was an engineer of the production department of construction administration, a senior engineer of the Research Mechanical Factory of the Shakhtspetssgroy trust in Shchekino. From 1965 to 1966, he was an engineer at the Voronezh Electromechanical plant.
From 1966 to 1972 worked as a lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor of the department of automation and telemechanics of the Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies, from 1972 to 1979 he was a deputy secretary, secretary of the Party Committee of the Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies. From 1979 to 1980, he was the first Secretary of the Comintern district Committee of the CPSU of Voronezh. From 1980 to 1983, he was the head of the science and education department of the Voronezh Regional Committee of the CPSU. Since 1983 was a professor, head of the department of system analysis and management in medical systems, from 1983 to 2006 was a rector of the Voronezh State Technical University, since 2006 he has been the President of the Voronezh State Technical University.
Vadim Frolov is a creator and head of the scientific school "modeling and management of objects with non-uniform characteristics". He is an author of more than 250 works.
