Nikolay Sergeevich Koltakov was a literary employee of the factory circulation newspaper Ogneupor (city of Semiluki, 1976-1977, 1980-1984), instructor of the district committee of the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union (1979-1980).
Since 1984, he has been working in the Voronezh Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting (later - Voronezh State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company): radio correspondent, editor, senior editor, television presenter of television programs. Initiator and organizer of the All-Russian festivals of youth television programs and documentaries in the city of Voronezh (1992, 1994).
Author and presenter of information and journalistic programs "Evening Voronezh" (1987-1991), "A Look from the Province" (1991-1995), "Country Road" (1999), "Seven Days of the Village" (2002) and others. The author of television films: "The Mystery of Lake Pustonsky" (1985), "The Broken Thread" (1988), "Dark Case" (1988), "Alien Pain" (1989) and others.
Author of the book "Centuries of Don" (2010). Many of Koltak's works were created in collaboration with production director L.B. Belyakova. Author of articles and essays about the wonderful countrymen in the local press.
