Noboru Tateyama was born in 1877 in Japan.
He studied under Tatezaki Kengyo.
Noboru Tateyama composed more than one hundred new koto music taking in modern rhythm. Most of them are still played by koto players. During the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895), he composed music to war songs, which took the music circles by surprise for its unconventionality. His representative compositions were Kongoseki (Diamond) and Mizu-wa Utsuwa (Water Takes Form According To Its Vessels).
Physical Characteristics: In his early years he became blind.
