Nobukata Takeda was born in 1420 in Japan.
He succeeded bis father as military commissioner of Wakasa and Aki provinces. When Mitsusuke Akamatsu revolted and killed Shogun Yoshinori Ashikaga, Takeda was sent to fight the rebel.
In 1462, he captured Yoshinari Hatakeyama's Kintaiji Temple in Kawachi (Osaka Prefecture). Also he distinguished himself on the side of Katsumoto Hosokawa during the Onin-no-Ran (civil war). The Kitashirakawa Castle in the suburbs of Kyoto was built by him.
