Nobumasa Okudaira was a Lord of Kano Castle in Mino Province (Gifu Prefecture). Although he served the Imagawas at first, he changed to the side of Ieyasu Tokugawa (1573) and became lord of Nagashino Castle (Aichi Prefecture). Katsuyori Takeda attacked the castle and besieged it but he managed to rout the Takeda forces.After taking part in the Sekigahara Battle (1600), he was appointed Governor of Kyoto. He was made lord of Kano Castle, with a 100,000-koku fief (1601) but resigned the following year.
