Career
While fighting for his brother distinguished himself in many battles such as Anegawa, Mikatagahara, Nagashino, Komaki, Nagakute and Sekigahara. As reward he was made castellan of Nirayama (Shizuoka Prefecture) with a fief of 10,000 koku and later was transferred to Fuchu Castle (Shizuoka Prefecture) (1601). Two years later was awarded the title of Buzen-no-Kami and made castellan of Nagahama Castle in Omi (Shiga Prefecture).
