Nobuo Hayashi was born in 1905.
Was appointed instructor of Doshisha University university (1930), and then instructor of Waseda University (1939) and later professor. Became professor of the Yokohama Municipal University (1949). Received a doctorate (1950) for the article "Principle of Faith and Sincerity in Laws" which was regarded as an outstanding work dealing with the transformation of the fundamental principle of private law in connection with the drastic change of social and economic conditions in the early period of the Taisho Era (1912-1925).
