First served Nobunaga Oda and Yukinaga Konishi. After the invasion of Korea was sent there as an envoy. Returning home, served Kiyomasa Kato then Toshinaga Maeda. Was created Lord of Hida (Gifu Prefecture). Being an ardent Christian, and also having the Christian name of Don Juan, he came under the ban against Christianity and together with Nagafusa Takayama was exiled to Luzon, Philippine Islands, where he died.
