He graduated from the Biology and Soil Science Faculty of the Voronezh State University (1964).
Since 1968 – assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, head of the Department of Invertebrate Zoology (since 1990), Department of Invertebrate Ecology and Systematics (since 1997) of Voronezh State University. Research interests: entomology, ecology of aquatic ecosystems, bioindication, ecology of soil mesofauna, biotoxicology, biology of rare and protected insects.
Oleg is the honored worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation.
The author of about 700 works, including books: “The determinant of insect families” (Voronezh, 1989; in collaboration with Y.I. Chernenko); “Fundamentals of ecology and environmental management. Hydrosphere” (Voronezh, 1997); “Dictionary of the ecologist. Study Guide” (Voronezh, 1999).
