Oleg Yakovlevich Gukov was born on August 31, 1936.

Career

By 1967, he achieved rank of Candidate of Sciences in chemistry. Since 1974, he worked as an assistant professor at inorganic chemistry department of Voronezh State University. However, in 1983 he decided to radically change his career path, taking up literature professionally. His works were published in "Yunost" (lit. Youth), "Podyom" (lit. Uprise) magazines and "Literary Russia" periodical.
