Oliver Schuchard earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting in 1966 and a Master of Fine Arts in 1972 at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He has also studied at numerous photography workshops.
Career
Since 1972 Oliver Schuchard has been a professor of photography at the University of Missouri in Columbia, and in 1975, he taught at the Ansel Adams Yosemite Workshop. In the 1980s with his teaching assignments, Oliver Schuchard freelanced. Of his work, Oliver Schuchard states, "My primary creative direction lies in the interpretation of the landscape in the traditional style of West Coast photographers." He works in both medium and large formats.
