Omori Kan-ichi graduated from Industrial Chemistry Department of Kyoto University (1917).
Omori Kan-ichi served as lecturer (from 1917) and then as assistant professor (from 1918) of Engineering Department at his alma mater. Studied in Germany, England and USA as overseas student of Education Ministry. He became chief of Applied Chemistry Department of Tokuahima Prefectural High School (1925), and president of Keijo (Seoul) Mining College, Gifu Prefectural Engineering College and Hyogo Prefedural Engineering College. Omori Kan-ichi became president of Himeji Engineering University (since 1949) and president of Junior College Department of the same university (since 1950). Serves also as member of Hyogo Prefectural Invention Research Promotion Council.
